Unashamed family friendly post.

The past week or so has been incredibly busy for us. I don’t volunteer for much around here, Mrs.Monkey does that, so I keep my diary free because her volunteering usually involves my labour. So, even though I’m not particularly a church goer, I’ve erected Nativity tents and taken them down, helped arrange flowers at a Carol service, photographed another Carol Service for the singers, completed a 300 mile round trip to deliver pressies, managed to get our house into some sort of order for the BIG DAY.

But, hey, what else have I got to worry about ?

So, tomorrow will look like this;

1. Rise and shine about 8 am.
2. Family Church service at 10.00 (because this is the one day of the year they sing fun songs).
3. Back for lunchtime Champagne with neighbours.
4. Dinner feast at 3.00 pm – just me and Fi – smiling into each others eyes.
5. 5.00pm Communal Sofa Snoring competition. (If you are awake, you lost !)
6. Evening walk for some air and then return home for another match in our annual Winter Scrabble Competition ( I usually lose).

But, here, in a shameless attempt to monopolise the “Aaahhh”factor, is the most important thing that happened to us this year. The arrival on 1st October of Thom Holden Galletly – our first Grandson……and we think he is the most handsome baby ever born.  🙂

Thom with Mummy and Daddy
Thom and Pops ( I Beep therefore I Am)

…and this is the song Pops wrote for Baby Thom 4 months ago…

Wishing everyone a happy time this Christmas holiday, regardless of your colour, creed or religion, we are of one humanity, one planet, smile on your fellows and be hopeful and kind.

(…..wanders off dancing to “Paddlehands”…………..)   🙂 🙂

    1. Hey Rajiv, thank you. I’m really glad you are back up and running on here. Missed you, man. You must stay in touch during 2012 !! All they very best wishes to you and all your family, not just now but all year round. You are a good guy. 🙂

  1. What a handsome little dude, and with such wizened eyes!
I tell ya, it must be that date on the calendar that births such great people (I’ll now be expecting gifts FYI 🙂 ).
I’m sure your very proud, as well you should be — for many reasons (Paddlehands being yet another), so Happy Holidays, Al, and to the whole Monkey Family!
    With much love from NYC,
    ~J

Hope you enjoyed your Christmas and may your New Year be filled with Love, Hope and Happiness.
    A warm feathery hug,
    Raven of Leyla xx

  3. Beautiful photos Al, you took them, right? Bet you had/are having a wonderful holiday 🙂
Here, school’s out so that is good enough reason to celebrate. Some even celebrated Christmas, Amu went over to her friends place wearing a Santa hat 🙂
Imran khan had a huge rally in Karachi and there’s some excitement and hope there, through all the cynicism. We’re all hoping Zardari drops dead soon 🙂

Wishing you all a wonderful 2012! *clink*

    1. Thanks, Munira. Actually the photos were taken by one of Duncan’s friends whilst visiting. Currently having a relaxing time. The thought of Amu going over to a friends place wearing a Santa hat is cool.
We’ve been hearing a bit about Imran Khan rallying the people over here. I hope you get a people’s leader in place soon. Wishing you and yours a great 2012 too. 🙂
